Nailsworth town council is suggesting the reinstatement of the once popular Stroud-Nailsworth-Bath bus. This used to run twice a week and saw reasonably well loaded double decks first from Stroud and latterly from Gloucester. It was the X26. The Wednesday and Saturday X26 only took about an hour from Stroud to Bath.

There remains a way of travelling from Stroud to Bath by public transport, by using Cotswold Green from Stroud to Tetbury and staying aboard as it continues as the 620 service Tetbury to Bath.

Meanwhile, Stagecoach is experimenting as a trial with its 1835 ex-Cheltenham service 46 to Nailsworth & Forest Green (departing Stroud 1920; returning from Forest Green 1948).
